PRENUPTIAL AGREEMENTS

PRENUPITAL AGREEMENTS (PRENUPS) GIVE YOU CONTROL

The purpose of a prenuptial agreement is to control your destiny. The main reason my clients obtain prenuptial agreement is to control the amount of alimony that is paid in the event of divorce. Florida does not have any set calculations when it comes to alimony as it does when it comes to child support.

A prenuptial agreement is a way to put boundaries on the amount of alimony one spouse may receive from another in the event of a divorce.

A prenuptial agreement can also be used to protect premarital assets and inheritances.

The most important aspect of a prenuptial agreement is the disclosure aspect, both parties must make a full disclosure of their financial status prior to entering into the prenuptial agreement or it could be held void.
